More and more people are beginning to embrace life as a travel nomad, but finding work to sustain your adventures isn’t always easy. While you might be able to find a full-time job to cover your everyday costs, starting a side hustle could really help you to fund those once-in-a-lifetime experiences you’re looking for.

Luckily, there are plenty of ways you can earn money on the side without compromising on your lifestyle. Take a look at this podcast covering how to start your own side hustle and read on to discover what kinds of jobs you could be doing remotely:

Content writing

With most of the world going digital, content writing is more in demand than ever. Lots of companies need writers to produce blogs, product descriptions, and social media posts to engage their audiences. It’s easy to create a profile on a popular freelancing website, but you could even create your own business if you really want to take this seriously. Consider upskilling and learning more about SEO and UX to really offer your clients more value.

Gifted hotel stay reviews

If you’re looking for a way to make money from your travelling, then writing reviews in exchange for a stay at a luxury hotel could be right up your alley. While these opportunities can be hard to come by, you’ll have a better chance of success if you build up a collection of reviews from places you’ve stayed in before.

This way, you’ll have a portfolio to send out to businesses so they can get a feel for your style. You’ll also position yourself as someone who’s more reliable and likely to follow through on their end of the deal.

Freelance translation

Many travel nomads speak more than one language to help them get by in different destinations. If you’re fluent in two or more tongues, then freelance translation is an option for you. There are all kinds of translation jobs to travel available online, from helping an author market their novel to audiences in other countries to transcribing speeches in a new target language. If you have experience working in legal or medical fields, you could make more money by translating specialist terms for businesses.

Alternatively, if you’re not sure translation is for you, you could use your language skills to teach other budding language learners what you already know. These two jobs go hand in hand and can easily be done from anywhere as long as you have an internet connection.

Create and sell high-quality travel images

Most travellers love taking photos to document their trips, but if you’re something of a photography expert and have your own camera, you could sell the pictures you take. Whether you choose to sell your photos to businesses or stock photo providers, you’ll be making money from your hobby with very little added effort. You might need to brush up on your editing skills or upgrade your equipment, but if you like to photograph popular or incredibly beautiful destinations, there will be a big market for your work.
