5 Awesome Wine
hotspots in Italy

Italy is world-renowned for many things including its tasty food and its rich history that has impacted the world.

However, in this post we are going to explore a different side of Italy, its delicious wine.

To experience wine in Italy is to experience some of the best wine that the world has to offer.

So let us dive into one of my favorite countries in the world and start our search for the best wine in Italy.

Taormina is a small town on the east coast of Sicily. You have awesome landscape, a more rural atmosphere,  and the stunning Aeolian Islands. The area has many vineyards making it a great place to start our quest to find the best wine in Italy.

You can take a tour of San Michele in Santa Venerina and Liperus in Piedimonte Etneo. Both of these wineries have a fantastic reputation in Italy.

Sicily’s an underrated area of Italy, but there are a lot of places to visit and things to do in Sicily

If you are flying into Rome you are already close to good wine. It may surprise you to learn that Fiumicino, Italy’s busiest airport, has an amazing wine selection.

Upon leaving the airport and heading into the city there are also many good restaurants and hotels that have wine in the area.

A popular restaurant in the area is Contro Corrente that has an amazing wine selection.

As soon as you land in Italy you have great wine right at your fingertips.

As we continue our search, our next destination leads us to one of the most scenic places in the country, the Amalfi coast.

This coast draws thousands of visitors a year because of its picturesque towns and jagged cliffs.

However, it is also an amazing place to continue our search for Italy’s best wine. Here we can tour the vineyards and taste the reds and whites that have made Italy famous for its wine.

Santa-Margherita Ligure

Santa Margherita has relaxing beaches, a towering old fort to explore, and many markets for shopping addicts.

Of course, we still have world-class wine to discover.

In this region of the country we find some amazing wine shops. Wino, for example, gives a wide selection of our favorite drink for us to choose.

This tiny little town is a fantastic place for us to visit. Not only is the town lovely and less touristy than many places on this list, but it also has many wine bars.

In Arzachena, we can spend our days walking the city and shopping, and our nights trying every wine that the city has to offer before heading back to our hotel.

Italy is home to some of the best wine in the world. These five places are a must-see for the wine lovers that are visiting Italy.

Each one of these cities and regions offers something different and will let you have a memorable vacation while experiencing some of the best wine the country has to offer.
