The Old Castle
On the slopes of Signal Hill, The Old Castle offers visitors an insight into what life was like in early Cape Town. The building itself dates back to the 18th century. But it now houses a museum with exhibits on everything from colonial history to South African military history.

This cable car ride is one of those bucket-list things you need to tick off at least once in your life. You take up to the top of Table Mountain, where you can enjoy spectacular views over Cape Town. The cable car station is near the Two Oceans Aquarium, which we also highly recommend visiting.

The Two Oceans Aquarium has been voted one of the best aquariums in the world and it’s easy to see why! There are many fish, including sharks and rays and penguins and seals, that live on site. There are also many interactive exhibits such as touch pools where visitors can touch some animals (with supervision). If you’re traveling with children, then they’ll love this place!
Robben Island Tour
Robben Island was home to Nelson Mandela while they imprisoned him for 27 years during Apartheid rule in South Africa. Today it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has become important.
Visit Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens
This botanical garden is one of the largest in the world and has over 8000 different species of plants! There are also hiking trails through the gardens if you want more exercise! It is a beautiful place to see and experience in Cap Town.

Cradle of Humankind in Johannesburg
The Cradle of Humankind is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located just north of Johannesburg. And is home to some pretty incredible fossils dating back over 3 million years. The site features many caves and one of the most impressive parts is Sterkfontein. Which contains some of the oldest hominid fossils ever found. There are also several museums at this park that showcase these fossils as well as provide information on where they came from.
