The Two Oceans Aquarium has been voted one of the best aquariums in the world and it’s easy to see why! There are many fish, including sharks and rays and penguins and seals, that live on site. There are also many interactive exhibits such as touch pools where visitors can touch some animals (with supervision). If you’re traveling with children, then they’ll love this place!

Robben Island Tour

Robben Island was home to Nelson Mandela while they imprisoned him for 27 years during Apartheid rule in South Africa. Today it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has become important.

Visit Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens

This botanical garden is one of the largest in the world and has over 8000 different species of plants! There are also hiking trails through the gardens if you want more exercise! It is a beautiful place to see and experience in Cap Town.

Cradle of Humankind in Johannesburg

The Cradle of Humankind is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located just north of Johannesburg. And is home to some pretty incredible fossils dating back over 3 million years. The site features many caves and one of the most impressive parts is Sterkfontein. Which contains some of the oldest hominid fossils ever found. There are also several museums at this park that showcase these fossils as well as provide information on where they came from.

Go on a Safari

South Africa is home to some of the best safari destinations in the world. Including Kruger National Park (our favorite) and Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve. You can spot herds of elephants, lions, hippos, and rhinos amongst other animals roaming around freely (as long as they don’t see you first!).
